International Women’s Media Foundation Names New Board Members, Co-Chairs
Washington, D.C. – The International Women’s Media Foundation has announced five new members of its board of directors:
• Ann Curry, news anchor of NBC News’ Today show and anchor of Dateline NBC. Curry joined Today in 1997 and was named co-anchor of Dateline NBC in 2005. She also regularly substitute anchors for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.
• Cindi Leive, editor-in-chief of Glamour magazine. Leive has held this position since 2001, during which time Glamour has received a record number of editorial awards, including a National Magazine Award for General Excellence in 2005 and the National Magazine Award for Personal Service in 2007.
• Eugene Robinson, columnist for The Washington Post. Robinson joined the Post in 1980 as city hall reporter and has held various reporting, editing and bureau chief positions ever since. He has been a columnist since 2005 and is the author of two books.
• Maria Elena Salinas, anchor at Univision Network. Salinas has been an anchor of Noticiero Univision (Univision Newscast) since 1987 and also anchors the primetime news magazine Aqui y Ahora (Here and Now). She is also a radio analyst on Latino issues and is one of few Hispanic syndicated columnists in the United States.
• Kalpana Sharma, an independent journalist, columnist and media consultant based in Mumbai, India. In her more than three decades as a journalist, Sharma has held senior positions in Himmat Weekly, Indian Express, Times of India and The Hindu.
Leading the IWMF’s board of directors as co-chairs are Akwe Amosu, senior policy analyst for Africa at the Open Society Institute, and Campbell Brown, host of No Bias, No Bull at CNN. Brown replaces Liza Gross of The Miami Herald, who will remain on the IWMF board. Theodore J. Boutrous Jr. of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP serves as vice chair. Secretary is Carolan K. Stiles of Blue Creek Foundation, and treasurer is Peggy White.
Outgoing board members will serve on an advisory council for the IWMF. They are:

• Ysabel Duron, KRON4-TV, San Francisco
• Carole Simpson, Emerson College/NPR
• Kerry Smith, ABC News
