Journalists from the Middle East and North Africa may submit applications for the 2007 Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press. The award, which aims to promote media freedom and the rule of law in the region, is named after the former Lebanese columnist and academic who was assassinated in 2005 for criticising Syria's policy toward Lebanon. It is presented by the European Commission Delegation in Lebanon in association with the Samir Kassir Foundation. Deadline is March 30. Click here for more information.
