In order to complete your nomination for the IWMF Lifetime Achievement Award, you must submit the following materials. Documents or samples of work that are not in English must be accompanied by certified translations. Materials cannot be returned. Applications will not be considered without this information:

  • A nomination statement describing why this journalist merits consideration for the IWMF's Lifetime Achievement Award. Please explain in detail how this candidate meets these qualifications using specific examples to illustrate the candidate's positive impact on women journalists and her dedication to journalism. Your nomination statement is a very important part of this process. Nominators are encouraged to read short biographies of previous award winners.
  • Brief biography of the candidate as it relates to the IWMF's Lifetime Achievement Award (one page maximum).
  • Detailed resume or CV of the candidate.
  • Examples of the candidate's work. Please submit electronically, when possible. If it is not possible to submit the candidate's work samples electronically, please send them by mail to:

    • Writers or reporters: 2-3 articles written by the candidate.
    • Editors or publishers: 2-3 examples of overall work.
    • Broadcast journalists: 4-5 minutes audio or video clip which features the candidate or is produced by the candidate. (Audio tapes can be submitted on cassettes, CDs or by electronic audio file. Video clips can be submitted in DVD, BETA or NTSC format.)
    • Photographers: 4-5 photographs taken by the candidate.
  • Two letters of support from professional associates (other than the nominator). Please submit via email to courage@iwmf.org.
