    Marjorie Miller

Marjorie Miller is the Latin America and Caribbean Editor for the Associated Press in Mexico City. She oversees about 100 reporters and editors and be responsible for coverage in a region stretching from the U.S. border in the north to Tierra del Fuego in South America, plus the Caribbean region from Trinidad to Bermuda.  She also has oversight of AP's global Spanish news service, including reporters, editors and translators working in Spanish inside the United States and across Latin America.

Previously she worked as a foreign editor and correspondent at the Los Angeles Times.  From 2002-2008, she was the foreign editor of the Times. Among the awards received by the Times under Miller's tenure as editor are a Pulitzer Prize in 2005 for international reporting for coverage of Russia and a Scripps Howard Foundation Ernie Pyle Award for Africa coverage, also in 2005.

Prior to serving as foreign editor, Miller worked as a Los Angeles Times correspondent for 17 years in Latin America, the Mideast and Europe. Before joining the Times as a staff writer for the San Diego County edition in 1983, Miller was a staff writer for the San Diego Union. She has also worked at The San Jose Mercury News and in the Associated Press’ Mexico City bureau.
