    Campbell Brown, Co-Chair

Campbell Brown is an anchor for CNN. She announced in May 2010 that she plans to leave the network. Prior to joining CNN, Brown spent 11 years working for NBC News. She served as co-anchor of Weekend Today and was the main substitute anchor for Brian Williams and a primary correspondent for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. Brown covered major news events for the network, including the last two presidential elections. She reported from Baghdad during the first Iraqi elections, the trial of Saddam Hussein and the court-martial of American soldiers for abuses at Abu Ghraib prison. Brown also covered the death of Pope John Paul II from Rome, and she reported from Gaza and the West Bank on the violence in the Middle East.

Brown was one of NBC’s Emmy award-winning correspondents, first on the scene during Hurricane Katrina, reporting extensively from New Orleans and the Gulf Coast on the storm’s devastating aftermath. Prior to joining Weekend Today, Brown served as NBC News White House correspondent, where she reported for Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, Today and MSNBC.

Brown started her career in local news as the political reporter covering Kansas politics for KSNT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Topeka, Kansas.
