2013 Women Entrepreneurs in the Digital News Frontier Grant Program - Call for Applications

The International Women's Media Foundation will award three $20,000 grants to entrepreneurial women journalists proposing to use digital media in innovative ways to deliver the news. In addition to seed funding, the program provides coaching from leading entrepreneurs and digital news media experts.

Hillman Prizes in Journalism
The Sidney Hillman Foundation is now accepting submissions for the 2013 Hillman Prizes that honor investigative journalism and commentary in the public interest.
The 2013 prizes will be given for work produced, published, broadcast, or exhibited in 2012. The categories include:
- books (non-fiction),
- newspaper reporting (print or online),
- magazine reporting (print or online),
- broadcast journalism (video or radio programs longer than 20 minutes),
- photojournalism (still photos that may or may not be part of a larger multi-media package),
- web journalism (online reporting done by an individual or an institution (text blog and/or multimedia),
- opinion journalism (for commentary and analysis in any medium).

The received-by deadline for all submissions is January 31, 2013.

Marie Colvin Scholarship
The Sunday Times is looking for future foreign correspondents to apply for this one-year scholarship. You will have practical experience of print journalism and digital media and a proven interest in foreign affairs.
Candidates may be of any nationality but must speak excellent English and have permission to work in the UK. The upper age limit is 26. The paid scholarship will involve working on the foreign desk and other sections. A trip overseas may also be included. The scheme runs from 1 January 2013 for a year.
Applications should include cover letter, CV and writing samples (maximum of 3) and should be addressed to:
