Kimberly Dozier, the CBS journalist who was wounded in a car bombing in Iraq in May, visited CBS News' headquarters Jan. 30 for the first time since the attack. Dozier is still undergoing therapy to repair her legs from shrapnel from the bombing, which killed her British camera crewmen Paul Douglas and James Brolan, as well as a U.S. soldier and an Iraqi translator. According to the Media Foundation for West Africa, attacks on journalists in West Africa increased in 2006. Nigeria led all countries in the region with 32 recorded violations of press freedom. Read the MFWA report.

Freedom House, which supports the expansion of freedom in the world, has issued a new report, "Freedom in the World 2007," which surveys political rights and civil liberties worldwide.
